Two people were injured in a house fire in Warbler Street, Elspark, Germiston at around 14h00 this afternoon. Exact detail to the cause of the fire will remain a subject for fire department comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a fourteen – year-old – boy had run into the house while it was burning to rescue a woman that was trapped in the building. After triaging the two patients, it was established that they both suffered from smoke inhalation. Paramedics treated them at the scene and then transported both to hospital for the care that they required.
