Three man were injured this afternoon when a truck collided with a tree on the N3 near the New England turnoff in Pietermaritzburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the truck sitting on the side of the road next to a large tree. Three occupants from the truck were found sitting next to their vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics found that one patient had sustained critical injuries while the two others had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Paramedics set out treating the patients as well as providing the critically injured patient with advanced life support.
All the patients were treated on scene and stabilised before they were transported to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for urgent medical treatment.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
