A woman was injured following a single vehicle accident on the R82 near Viljoensdrift this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a motor vehicle had left the roadway, overturned and came to a standstill on its side approximately ten meters from the roadway.
Upon assessment of the occupants, paramedics found a woman was entrapped in the vehicle. The fire department had to make use of the Jaws of Life to extricate the woman from the vehicle.
Once freed from the vehicle, paramedics found that the woman had sustained serious injuries during the rollover accident. The thirty-eight-year-old injured woman was treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the rollover accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
