Sixteen people have been injured after the taxi they were in overturned on the M4 North near Walter Gilbert around 2pm today.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find the taxi on its side, the passengers had all climbed out of the wreck and were found on the side of the road. Their injuries ranged from minor to moderate. More ambulances were called to assist in transporting the injured. Once all of the injured had been stabilized on scene they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the single vehicle to lose control and overturn however SAPS Collision Unit were in attendance and will be investigating further.
