A man is a critical condition following an accident on the R25 near Garsfontein Road in Welbekend this afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a heavy goods vehicle and motor vehicle collided. The motor vehicle then left the roadway and came to a standstill against a heap of rubble.
Upon assessment of the male driver, paramedics found that he had sustained critical injuries during the accident. The injured man was treated at the scene and transported to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required.
The occupants of the heavy goods vehicle were not injured during the accident.
