A 40-year-old woman was killed this morning after she was hit by a taxi while she was crossing the Pretoria and Albatross Road intersection in Kempton Park.
ER24 paramedics from the Johannesburg Central branch arrived at the intersection and found the body of the woman lying in the middle of the road. The taxi had stopped just a few metres away on the side of the road.
On assessment of the patient, paramedics found that the female patient had sustained multiple fatal injuries in the collision. Nothing more could be done for the patient and she was declared dead on scene.
Fortunately no-one from the taxi sustained any injuries.
Local metro authorities were on scene for further investigations.
