One person died following an accident on the M4 south bound on the Tongaat River Bridge early this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a motor vehicle overturned several times and crashing against the barrier, removing part of the steel barrier from the bridge during the rollover crash. The vehicle then burst into flames.
Upon investigation of the occupants, paramedics found that the driver died during the accident and fire.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
