A woman was injured following a side impact crash on Christiaan de Wet Road near Wilgerood Road in Kloofendal, Roodepoort this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a bus, transporting school children, and a motor vehicle were involved in a side impact crash.
Upon assessment of the occupants, paramedics found that the female driver of the motor vehicle was in a critical condition following the accident.
The critically injured woman was treated at the scene and rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care she required.
The occupants of the bus were not injured during the crash.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
