A man in his late 20s is in a serious condition this morning following a motor vehicle collision on the N3 near Cato Ridge in KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found the light motor vehicle blocking two lanes of the busy highway. Large pieces of the centre medium fence was spread across the two lanes of the accident scene.
On assessment, paramedics found the driver of the vehicle lying a few metres away from his vehicle in a serious condition. The patient was found to have sustained serious injuries to his head, neck and legs.
Paramedics treated the patient for his injuries and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, he was transported to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for urgent treatment.
It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll multiple times.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
