A man was killed this morning after a light motor vehicle and bus collided head-on on the Kamagugu Road outside of Nelspruit in Mpumalanga.
When ER24 paramedics, along with fire services, arrived on scene, they found a large bus and wrecked light motor vehicle lying in the middle of the road. The light motor had sustained heavy damage in the collision.
On assessment, paramedics discovered two occupants in the light motor vehicle, a male driver and female passenger.
When paramedics assessed the two patients, they found that the male driver lay trapped in the vehicle and had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries.
The female passenger fortunately escaped without any injuries. No-one from the bus sustained any injuries.
The road will be closed for some time to allow authorities to begin their investigations into the cause of the collision.
