Advanced Life Support paramedic Caleb Wang thanked for role in Mountain Rescue

The story of the man who was rescued in the Drakensberg by a team of rescuers has been well documented. The team worked hard all day to rescue the man in difficult conditions.

One of the members on the team was an Advanced Life Support paramedic from KZN Emergency Medical Services, Mr Caleb Wang. He provided the medical support during the rescue.

Today at the launch of 95 patient Transport Vehicles, the MEC for Health Dr Dhlomo thanked and congratulated Mr Wang for his efforts in the rescue. The MEC, while shaking Mr Wang’s hand said “ well done on your efforts during this rescue, the service needs more people like you”

Mr Wang joined EMS in 2008 and in 2010, become our College of Emergency Care’s deputy Principal. With his Degree in Emergency Medical Care and several other tertiary qualifications, he lectures on several of the programs run at our college. He is also sits on several EMS related committees and tasks teams, while still regularly seeing patients on the road.
