Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the R25 near Graham Road in Bapsfontein last night.
Upon their arrival on scene, paramedics found that two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. Accident debris were scattered all over the roadway.
Upon assessment of the all the occupants, paramedics found that a man tragically lost his life during the crash. There was nothing further that paramedics could do for the man and he was declared dead at the scene.
Paramedics found that one person was in a critical condition, two people sustained serious injuries and three people sustained minor to moderate injuries during the crash.
The injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the head-on collision and preceding events are unclear at this stage and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
