Six people were injured after three vehicles collided along Inanda Road in Newlands west this morning. Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative however, the taxi seems to have overturned on impact and burst into flames. Fortunately, the commuters managed to clamber from the wreckage with only minor injuries.
Netcare 911 paramedics the fire service and several other services arrived at the scene and found that taxi to be engulfed in flames while the patients were found at the side of the roadway. After they were treated, they were transported to hospital by paramedics from various private services while fire fighters battled the fire. The roadway remained closed until emergency personnel managed to clear the wreckages and debris from the road surface.
