A man was seriously injured after he fell on an Umhlanga beach while walking his dog this morning. Reports from the scene indicate that the man was walking his dog along East Moor beach when he slipped and fell.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the sand with a serious injury. With the patient being some distance down the beach paramedics called for the Netcare 911 rescue officer to assist them in getting the patient off the beach.
After the patient was stabilise and deftly immobilised on a trauma board they drove the patient back along the beach to where the ambulance was waiting. After transferring the injured man to the ambulance, they transported him to a local hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic.
