One person died and three others sustained minor to moderate injuries when a wall collapsed at a construction site in the Newcastle CBD earlier today.
When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found that four construction workers had been injured.
The wall had fallen outwards, towards a vacant piece of land, onto the workers.
A man found lying between some rubble was assessed. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for him. He was declared dead.
Three others were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.
They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
