A man is in a critical condition following an accident on North Rand Road near Jet Park Road in Hughes, Boksburg late this afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a scooter and heavy goods vehicle were involved in a partial head-on collision.
Upon assessment of the nineteen-year-old man, paramedics found that he had sustained serious to critical injuries during the collision. The injured man was treated at the scene and transported to hospital for the urgent medical care and treatment that he required, under the care of an advanced life support paramedic.
The driver of the heavy goods vehicle was not injured during the accident.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the collision and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
