A 17 year old child on her way home from school was knocked by an out of control vehicle after it lost control on Kenyon Howden Road in Montclair near the Shoprite Checkers around 3pm.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene and found the badly damaged vehicle on the roadside with the driver suffering serious injuries as well as the pedestrian he had collided with. Another ambulance was dispatched to assist as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics. Both patients had suffered serious injuries including fractures and were stabilized on the scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the single vehicle to lose control and veer off the road however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
