Yesterday police attached to Trio Crimes conducted operations in the Nyanga Cluster. During these operations eight suspects were arrested for various crimes including dealing in drugs, possession of stolen vehicles and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
25 parcels and 18 bankies of Dagga, with an estimated street value of R20 000, 00 were seized; three firearms and ammunition were confiscated and a stolen vehicle was recovered.
In a separate incident, last night at about 19:00, police attached to Trio Crime conducted a search in a house in Nyanga. 35 kilograms of Dagga, with estimated street value of R35 000, 00, were confiscated and a 35-year-old suspect was arrested.
All suspects are expected to appear at Athlone Magistrate’s court once charged.
