This morning Netcare 911 paramedics, Gauteng Mountain Rescue, West Rand Disaster management and the Magalies City Search and rescue and Fire department were activated for a tour guide that had fallen and injured herself on the mountain at Magaliesberg.
The team arrived at the mountain and with a great team effort managed to negotiate the rocky terrain to get to the patient. After the patient was stabilised and immobilised on a trauma board, medics and rescue personnel had to carry her across the Rocky terrain to where the helicopter landed on top of the mountain.
The injured female was loaded on board the Netcare medical helicopter and then airlifted to a specialised hospital for the care that she required.
