A three-year-old girl drowned this afternoon in a swimming pool at a residence in Potchefstroom.
ER24 paramedics were called for backup, and on arrival at the residence, paramedics found nursing staff from the nearby clinic performing CPR on the patient.
Paramedics immediately took over CPR and provided the patient with advanced life support interventions.
Unfortunately, after 40 minutes of CPR, no vital signs return and the patient was declared dead.
It is understood that the child was pulled from the pool by neighbours.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
