Seven people have been injured three seriously so after the taxi they were in lost control and collided with the bridge over Brickfield Road just after 12pm today.
Rescue Care paramedics and SAPS Search and Rescue arrived on the scene to find that the single vehicle had somehow lost control and collided with the bridge literally tearing the taxi apart. Two passengers were ejected onto the roadway below and suffered serious injuries. A total of seven people had been injured with three patients requiring Advanced Life Support intervention. Once all of the injured had been stabilized on the scene they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further
