A boy believed to be 13 years old was treated and transported to hospital after a snake bit him.
The incident took place last night. ER24 paramedics were contacted to attend to the child who was bitten in the Askham area. The boy’s family drove out of the area and met paramedics who then assessed the child.
The child showed signs of the the venom acting on his nervous system.
Paramedics transported the child to Mediclinic Upington for further medical care.
