Earlier this morning paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services responded to the R103 near the Peace Town turn off, where there was a crash reportedly involving a truck, bakkie and minibus.
The multivehicle crash left 12 people injured. The injured included four school children, who had been occupants of the minibus. The children had sustained minor injuries. The eight other patients, who had sustained serious injuries, were adults. The patients, were treated and stabilised by KZN EMS paramedics at the scene, before being transported to several hospitals in the area, by paramedics from KZN EMS and a local private ambulance service, for continued medical care.
The exact cause of the crash and the preceding events leading up to the crash are subject to police investigation and comment.
