Two separate crashes in the Pietermaritzburg area have claimed the lives of two people this morning.
The first crash occurred on the Greytown road, where a vehicle reportedly overtured. Sadly one person passed away in this crash and paramedics from KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health Emergency Medical Services and a local private ambulance service treated three people who had sustained serious injuries at the scene.
The second crash occurred on Chase Valley road, where two light motor vehicles collided. Sadly one person sustained fatal injuries in the crash, while six people were treated for injuries ranging from serious to minor.
The exact cause of these crashes in not known at this stage and the police are investigating further.
