Man injured as crane collapses, Potchefstroom

A man was injured this afternoon when the crane he was operating toppled over at a company on abattoir Road in Potchefstroom.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find a large crane on its side in a yard.

On assessment, paramedics found the operator near his vehicle. Fortunately the man had sustained only moderate injuries.

Paramedics treated the patient for his injuries and thereafter transported him to Mediclinic Potchefstroom for further treatment.

It is understood that the crane was lifting steel beams at the time of the incident.

Local authorities were on scene for investigations.
