A mother and 5-year-old girl were killed this evening after they fell six storeys off a building on Claim Street in Joubert Park, Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with local authorities, responded to the scene and found the pair lying on the sidewalk.
On assessment, paramedics found that the mother had already succumbed to her multiple fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for her and she was declared dead.
The child was found to be in a critical condition.
Paramedics treated her and provided her with advanced life support intervention.
Unfortunately after some time, the child succumbed to her injuries.
The cause of the incident is not yet known but is subject to the investigations of local authorities.
