Routine roadblock leads to arrest for possession of unlicensed firearm and attempted bribery.

Yesterday, 12 January 2016 at 14:00, members from Booysens Vispol arrested a suspect and seized two AK 47 rifles.

Members were standing on a routine road block, busy searching vehicles. The road block commander pulled over a BMW and the members started to search the vehicle. There was a big white plastic bag in the boot. The bag was opened and two AK 47’s rifles were found with ammunition. The suspect was arrested. The suspect then offered the members R20 000-00 to release him.

He has been arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well attempted bribery.
