A 76-year-old man was killed last night when he was struck by a vehicle on the P483 between Madadeni and Osizweni in KZN.
Shortly before 9pm paramedics from ER24 were returning from an incident when they noticed a vehicle suddenly swerve into the emergency lane next to them. They immediately turned around to enquire if they could be of assistance.
When they arrived at the vehicle they found that it collided with a pedestrian. The 76-year-old was found with fatal injuries. Unfortunately, there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on scene. The driver of the vehicle was in shock and assessed on scene.
Local authorities were called to the scene for an investigation into the exact cause.
