A family of four was injured this afternoon after a fire broke out at a flat on Cason Road in Boksburg.
When ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene they found the flat well ablaze.
An EMPD officer ushered the paramedics to the awaiting patients.
On assessment, paramedics found that an adult male and female, as well as a girl (4) and boy (2), had sustained various injuries including burns and smoke inhalation.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, the patients were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
