A man was rescued this morning off an electric pylon off of Ryk Tulbach Road in Bloemfontein.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene by local authorities.
On arrival, paramedics found that a man sat 40 metres up on a pylon.
Free State EMS College and ER24 paramedics used specialised rescue equipment to make their way to the patient. Once paramedics reached the patient, he was placed in a harness and returned safely to the ground.
Paramedics treated the man and thereafter transported him to Mediclinic for further assessment.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
