A male believed to be in his late thirties has been left fighting for his life after falling from the new Umgeni Road interchange this evening.
Crisis Medical advanced life support emergency care practitioners along with members of another private ambulance service, arrived on the scene at approximately 5PM, to find the man lying in the roadway in a critical condition.
Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize him before he was placed on to a specialized stretcher for suspected neck and spinal cord injuries and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for the immediate definitive care he required.
The facts surrounding the incident and the cause of the mans fall is unknown and will form subject of a South African Police Services investigation.
