Just after 06h00 this morning Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a taxi that overturned on the N2 at Shakashead. Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain a subject for the South African Police to investigate.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the twisted frame of the vehicle had come to rest in the centre median. The injured had clambered from the wreckage some with the help of other commuters and was found in the centre median.
After the injured was examined medics established that six people had sustained serious injuries while eleven miraculously escaped with minor injuries. Medics treated the injured at the scene before they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
