At 14h55 on Monday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics raced out to an industrial accident in Jacobs, Durban. Reports from the scene indicate that the man was working on the roof when it broke and caused him to fall approximately 15 meters to the ground. Exact detail to the cause of the incident will remain a subject for further investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the man was lying on the floor inside the factory with life threatening injuries. Medics worked fervently to stabilise the twenty-year-old at the scene. After they placed him on a ventilator, they skilfully immobilised him on a trauma board before he was transported to a specialised hospital for the care that he required.
