A 28-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were injured this morning after a light motor vehicle collided with a bakkie and pedestrian on Alexandra Road in Westmead, KwaZulu Natal.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, the found both the light motor vehicle and bakkie on the side of the road while the pedestrian lay on the pavement.
Paramedics assessed the male pedestrian and found that he had sustained serious leg injuries while the female driver of the light motor vehicle had escaped with minor injuries.
Paramedics treated both patients and transported them to nearby hospitals.
The pedestrian was transported to RK Khan Hospital while the woman was transported to Life Crompton hospital.
It is believed that the light motor vehicle collided with the stationary bakkie and then with the pedestrian.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
