Eight people were injured this morning after a taxi rear-end two light motor vehicles at the Gordon and Hendrick Potgieter Road intersection in Floraklip, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene after the taxi driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to rear-end two other vehicles in the intersection.
On arrival, paramedics found all three vehicles in the one lane of the busy road.
The occupants from all three vehicles were assessed and it was found that 6 from the taxi and two from the light motor vehicle had been injured in the collision.
Two injured woman from the taxi were found to be roughly 6 months pregnant. One injured person from the light motor vehicle was a young girl, believed to be four-years-old.
Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to various hospitals for further treatment.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
