A 46-year-old woman was left seriously injured this morning after she was hit by a light motor vehicle on the Village Road in Pinetown, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at 08h15 and found the woman lying on the pavement while the vehicle in question had stopped a short distance away on the side of the road.
On assessment, paramedics discovered that the patient had sustained serious injuries to her legs and pelvis.
ER24 paramedics treated the patient and provided her with advanced life support interventions. The patient was thereafter transported to St Mary’s Hospital for further treatment.
The diver of the vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries.
Local authorities will investigate further.
