Seven people were injured this afternoon when a light motor vehicle overturned on the N2 Baden Powell Highway Outbound, in the Western Cape.
Shortly before 15h00 this afternoon, multiple ER24 vehicles, along with Metro Services, arrived on the scene and found that a light motor vehicle had rolled multiple times, landing in the centre isle of the road.
The seven occupants that had been in the vehicle at the time of the incident had already climbed out of the vehicle and we’re now found walking around the scene.
On assessment, paramedics discovered that one man, believed to have been ejected from the vehicle, had sustained serious injuries. The remaining patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries. One of the patients was a 4-year-old boy.
Paramedics immediately set out treating the patients, as well as providing the seriously injured patient with numerous advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, four patients were transported by ER24 while three were transported by Metro Services, to a nearby hospital.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities will be conducting an investigation.
