10 people have been injured this morning after their vehicle crashed off the R103, rolled down an embankment and landed on a railway tracks in Cato Ridge.
ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene and found the vehicle lying on its side at the bottom of an embankment.
It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash off the main road and onto a lower service road. The vehicle then crashed off the service road and landed on the train tracks.
Paramedics assessed the scene and found that 10 people had been injured in the collision. Two people had sustained serious injuries while the remaining eight had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to various hospitals for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
