Eleven people were injured this morning when a bakkie overturned on the corner of Buhrmann Street and Mouton Road in Horison, Roodepoort.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the bakkie lying on its roof while a light motor vehicle had pulled over in one of the side roads.
It is understood that the bakkie had been carrying labourers, on their way to work, when the collision occurred.
Eleven people including both drivers, were found on scene with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Most of the patients were found scattered around the bakkie.
Paramedics treated all the patients while local authorities and CPF members assisted in redirecting traffic. Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
