A young man believed to be in his early twenties was hit my a vehicle on the R24 in the East of Johannesburg. The man and his brother was allegedly trying to cross the road when the incident occurred.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found the man lying in the middle of the road. After assessment, they found that he had sustained multiple facial fractures and critical head injuries. He was in a critical state. He was treated and transported by ER24 to Johannesburg General Hospital for urgent treatment. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any serious injuries.
Traffic in the area has been affected and although the scene has been cleared, ER24 would like to urge motorists to make use of alternative routes where possible. The cause of the incident remains unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
