This evening at around 17h00 Netcare 911 and the Provincial paramedics responded to a collision on the N1 about 6 Kilometres south of Kroonstad. Reports from the scene indicate that a Uno was stationary at the side of the highway when it was struck by a heavy goods vehicle.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the roadway littered with accident debris and the twisted frame of the vehicle and truck. Tragically it was found that a man had died before our arrival due to the extensive injuries that he sustained. Two others were found to have to have been injured one critically so.
Paramedics stabilised the injured at the scene before they transported them to a nearby hospital for the care that they required.
