At 08h49 on Thursday morning Netcare paramedics responded to a collision on the N2 North one kilometre before the Spaghetti Junction. Reports from the scene indicate that the bakkie with eight workers were loaded with scaffolding gear when it overturned, its twisted frame coming to rest in the centre median with the front balancing on the Armco barriers of the south bound lanes.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that the eight workers sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor. The patients were treated at the scene before medics transported them to a specialised hospital in Durban for the care that they required.
