A man, believed to be the driver of a taxi, was killed Friday afternoon when his vehicle overturned on the N2 near the M7 Spaghetti Interchange.
Shortly after 16.30pm paramedics arrived on the scene where they found the taxi lying on its side against the middle barrier of the highway. The body of the driver was found a few meters away from the taxi. It is believed he was ejected from the vehicle when it overturned. Another patient was found with moderate injuries on the scene. It is understood that he was the conductor in the taxi. He was treated on the scene and later transported by another service to hospital.
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. Local law enforcement attended the scene and will conduct an investigation. Traffic was severely affected while emergency workers and investigators attended the scene.
