Man seriously injured at factory in New Germany, Pinetown

A 53-year-old man sustained a serious leg injury when a cylinder, believed to weigh almost 600kg, fell on top of him at a factory in New Germany, Pinetown.

At 1pm paramedics arrived at the site where they found the man with a deep cut and fractured leg. He explained to paramedics that he was busy assembling a machine when a trolley carrying the pipe fell over and on top of him. He stated that he managed to get the pipe of his leg and called for help.

Paramedics treated him on scene before transporting him to Life Westville Hospital for further care.
