Successful resuscitation of new-born in Newland, Durban

At midnight on Friday night Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a twenty-year-old lady that was giving birth in Newland, Durban. Reports from the scene indicate that the child was born at twenty-eight weeks.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the child was not responding. Medics immediately started with advanced resuscitation and within a few minutes they sighed a big relief when the baby responded positively to their treatment. Medics transported the mother and baby to a specialised hospital in Durban for the care that they required.
