A mother and her 8-year-old girl were left injured this morning following a head-on collision between two bakkies and a trailer on the R56 in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found both bakkies and the trailer in the middle of the road.
On closer inspection, paramedics discovered that a woman and her child had sustained minor injuries. The driver of the second bakkie was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
Paramedics treated the mother and daughter and thereafter transported them both to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
