Four people were injured this morning, one seriously, after a collision between three SUV’s on the R614 outside of Wartburg in KwaZulu-Natal.
Paramedics from the ER24 Pietermaritzburg branch arrived on the scene and found all three vehicles in the middle of the road. Three patients were found walking around on the scene while a woman was found in a serious condition, seated inside one of the vehicles.
ER24 paramedics assessed the patients and found that the woman had sustained serious injuries while the three others had sustained only minor injuries.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided the woman with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the woman was transported to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg while the three other patients were transported to Northdale Hospital.
Traffic was heavily affected in the area due to the collision.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
