At 05h45 on Saturday morning Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an industrial site in Ortman Road Pietermaritzburg. Reports from the scene indicate that a man in his thirties got his leg caught in a moving machine. Exact detail as to how the incident occurred will form part of an investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man to be in a critical condition. After a lengthy operation medics managed to free the man from the machine. The critically wounded worker was stabilised at the scene before they transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
