The week of 12 March to 18 March is marked in the Health Calendar of events as the World Glaucoma Week. Glaucoma is a complicated disease in which damage to the optic nerve leads to progressive, irreversible vision loss. Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness.
To inform the public more on the issue, the Free State Department of Health is afforded a media opportunity by Lesedi FM to impart knowledge about the disease and how to prevent, manage and treat it.
