KwaZulu-Natal: Mtunzini High Court convicted and sentenced Mduduzi Luthuli (35) and Simiso Ndebele (32) to life imprisonment for murder and 15 years imprisonment for robbery with aggravated circumstances. A further 10 years was imposed for possession of unlicensed firearm and two years for possession of ammunition to Mduduzi Luthuli. This emanates from a murder case that took place at Ezimangweni area, Nongoma where the accused was implicated.
KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa welcomed the sentence handed down to both accused and praised the detectives for their determination in solving the case. “I also praised the community members for assisting in apprehending the accused and hand him to the police. This shows that community is involved in the fight against crime. We need need more community participation and join community police forums which is a statutory body that fights crime”, he said.
